Professor Chad Staddon and Dr Mark Everard were amongst 60 guests invited to a reception at the House of Lords, hosted by Lord Bhikhu Parekh, on 5 June 2018.
The event celebrated the good works of WaterHarvest in India, which has been providing improved water services to tens of thousands of people, especially in the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan.
IWSN has had a strong relationship with WaterHarvest for several years. In 2017, WaterHarvest kindly hosted student Peter Covell in a project looking at stepwells in Gujarat, as part of the UWE Global Water Security Project.
IWSN has also co-sponsored the publication of an illustrated report (in English, Gujarati and Hindi) called 30 Wise Water Solutions in Rajasthan that explores traditional water management systems and their role in addressing 21st century challenges. It provides practical guidance to communities, NGOs and others for identifying which of the many innovative water management solutions found across Rajasthan is likely to deliver the greatest benefits.
