IWSN to attend Madrid meetings on water governance

Professor Chad Staddon will be attending the upcoming meetings in Madrid, Spain (28-29 April 2014) of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Water Governance Initiative, an international multi-stakeholder network that seeks to share on-going reforms, projects, lessons and good practices in support of better governance in the water sector.  These meetings will in particular focus on recent developments in the Global Water Agenda, preparations for the 7th World Water Forum (Daegu, Korea, 12-17 April 2015) and the ongoing negotiations of post-2015 water-related targets to replace the water aspects of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Chad will seek to contribute to all four thematic areas covered by the WGI, but will focus in particular on ‘stakeholder engagement’ and ‘performance and governance of water services’ as these align most closely with the on-going work within the International Water Security Network and Sustainable Water Action Network research programmes.
