The challenges of providing safe water in refugee settlements to prevent COVID-19

An article exploring the challenges of providing safe and accessible water in refugee settlements in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has been published by the journal Water International.

It was written by Nazifa Rafa and Sayed Mohammad Nazim Uddin (Asian University for Women (AUW)), and Chad Staddon (International Water Security Network, UWE Bristol).

Two of the key COVID-19 prevention strategies are regular handwashing and social distancing, although both measures can be difficult to follow in refugee settlements where overcrowding, congregating at water sources, and the availability of clean water are common problems.
